TOMORROW: Peri/Menopause & Sxuality!

Hello Reader,

I often describe peri-menopause as a potentially “conscious uncoupling” of the brain & ovaries. If communication & synergy has been good between them, the parting of ways can happen amicably, without too much drama. However, if the ovaries & brain have been in a dysfunctional relationship (perhaps not speaking for many years because of synthetic hormonal contraception, for example) then the break-up is probably going to be more dramatic.

Peri-menopause & menopause tend to amplify health issues that our youth allowed us to supress, mask, or ignore. The cultural myth that peri-menopause & menopause are inherently symptomatic is as prevalent as the idea that menstrual cramps & wild mood swings are normal while we cycle.

While symptoms may be culturally normal, they are not innate to healthy physiology.

We're gonna talk about this more TOMORROW at. . . .
